What is DOR?
Director of Rugby is an online multiplayer game played by using the browser on your PC. You take on the role of Director of Rugby at a professional club of your choice and compete against other users managing other clubs.
What are the objectives?
Your rugby objectives are straightforward - success on the field by winning league and cup competitions. But you need to keep an eye on your finances otherwise you may run out of cash. This will restrict your ability to deal in the transfer market until you have a positive cash balance once again. At the beginning of each season, you will get an influx of cash from season ticket sales.
How does it work?
The game system will allocate you to a vacancy at the club you have chosen. This is done randomly. Therefore, although the DOR player database is updated daily, unless you are allocated to a new scenario, the squad you inherit will probably not be an exact replication of the real life squad.
You can aquire new players and release existing players to improve your squad. Each week you will need to select your team taking into account your players' ratings, positions, fitness, form and morale. You can also organise substitutions, player assignments and tactics.
Matches are 'played' on Saturdays at 3pm UK time and the DOR game is not then available until 5pm when the results, match reports and league tables are updated and accessible.
How can I influence results?
You can acquire and release players to improve your squad. You can rotate your squad to maintain fitness and morale and you also control team selection, substitutions and your game plan. Get all these elements right and you will be on the road to success. Coming soon - you can set up your weekly training and coaching schedule and employ specialist back up coaches
Who decides the ratings?
Ratings are reviewed regularly by the DOR team and changed where necessary. The system is based on actual playing history and experience, supplemented by a keen group of researchers with in-depth knowledge of the players at specific clubs.
Do I have to pay to play?
Yes, playing DOR requires a once only payment of £9.99. You will need a credit or debit card to join.
How do I join?
Click on the JOIN button on the home page or in the top menu.
Is there a start date?
No, you can join at any time – not just at the beginning of a season. A DOR season lasts for 40 weeks and starts again immediately.

Are there any rules about conduct?
One of the unique benefits gained from playing online is that you can play against and negotiate with real people representing opposition clubs. Because you are playing the game with others, it follows that there is an obligation to play responsibly for the benefit of everyone.
You may only manage one team in a scenario, and we ask all players to observe this rule and play fairly. Our terms and conditions contain clauses relating to fair play, to view these see the legal link (at the foot of the home page).
Is it safe to play?
Yes, although you play against others there is no interaction between players. The game is absolutely safe for all ages.
How much time does it take?
You really can play this game in just a few minutes per week. However, many people take more time to scout new players, negotiate transfers and contracts, and adjust selection and tactics.
Can I get help to play?
DOR is very easy to pick up and every page in the game has a help function.
Do I have to download anything?
No, there are no downloads. You just access the game over the internet
